Taxing: The process of a court checking a lawyer's bill.

Tenancy in common: An arrangement in which two or more people co-own a property, but with no right of survivorship( meaning if one party dies the other does not receive his or her share in that property).

Tenant: A person who holds real property under a lease, lessee.

Tender:-

1. An offer.

2. Attempted performance.

Term:-

1. A period of time.

2. A contractual promise.

Term life insurance: Protection type which will only pay if the person dies within a certain time period.

Testamentary: Under a will or by a will.

Testator: The person making a will.

Third Party: A stranger to a legal proceeding, transaction or relationship.

Title:-

1. Ownership.

2. Right to ownership.

Title search: The examination of registered deeds which ensures a piece of real estate can be bought without anyone else making a claim on it.

Torrens title: A government process where certificates are issued on land which is an assurance that the person named on the certificate of title is the legal owner of the property.

Tort: A civil wrong not arising out of equity or a contract.

Transfer: To assign.

Transferor: A person who transfers.

Transferee: The person to whom transfer is made.

Treason: The crime of violation of the duty to allegiance to the sovereign and the government.

Trespass:-

1. Trespass to the person: wrongful imprisonment, assault, assault and battery.

2. Trespass to goods: Unlawful removal, seizure or damage to goods.

3. Trespass to land: unlawful interference or entry to another persons piece of land.

Trial: The hearing of a legal proceeding in a court of law before a judge.

Trover: Lawsuit seeking compensation from someone who has taken property without permission and has converted it to his or her own personal use.

Truant: A child who consistently and deliberately misses school.

Trust: An arrangement where one person holds property for the benefit of someone else.
